Meet Our Leadership

Camp Director - Janelle Taylor

Hi friends! My name is Janelle Taylor, but you might know me as Jan. I’m beyond thrilled to be serve as the Director of Silver Lake Camp this summer! This special place of SLC has been a rich ground of friendship, growth and adventure for me over the last decade. I can’t wait to be back on site, to jump off the diving dock with you, watch our funny skits, and see the beautiful view of the lake at Vespers Point. Join us for a week this summer, and you can trust it’s going to mean something unforgettable for you too.

When I’m not at camp, I attend Tyndale Seminary and work with the Navigators in Hamilton doing campus ministry, mentoring young people in life and faith. It’s such a joy to find myself getting to work in this way during the summer months too!  As well, this spring I’ll be getting married to a fun guy named Steve, who loves sponge wars and dressing up in silly costumes! He comes from Ryerson Camp and is currently a director of Leadership Development Camp. We’re excited do ministry alongside each other and go on this summer’s adventure with you!

See you at Silver Lake Camp, for Summer 2020!

Assistant Camp Director - James Wright

Hey everyone! My name is James Wright and I am incredibly excited to serve as the Assistant Director of Silver Lake Camp this summer!
I have so many amazing memories from my time at camp and I feel so blessed to be able to help continue to pass on the love of Jesus that has made camp the place its been for generations. I can’t wait to get started! I love splashing around at the waterfront, jumping around and laughing together at session, and running through the fields during sponge wars.

Outside of camp I study at Wilfrid Laurier University where I am working towards a double degree in Business Administration and Computer Science. I also work part-time at the university as a Teacher’s Assistant. While I’m not studying, I love to play sports (especially hockey), play board games with my friends and family (did someone say Catan champion?), and to find ways to connect with the larger camp community and to keep the camp experience going year-round. This summer is going to be an absolute blast and you’re not going to want to miss it!

I look forward to seeing you all!
