Meet Our Leadership

Camp Director - Emily Cowley

Worship in the Adanac, canoes tipping on the lake, laughter during sponge wars – these are the sounds that ignite my heart! My name is Emily and I am excited to introduce myself as Silver Lake Camp’s new Director. Having attended camp for eleven years and worked on staff for an additional five, I have a deep passion for Silver Lake’s ministry. In fact, I am a product of its ministry. Silver Lake is a community like no other, with a servant-heart that’s unmistakable and my dream is to see it continue!

Outside of camp, you can find me developing youth programming for CityKidz – a Hamilton-based organization – as well as supporting undergraduate students at McMaster University. When I’m not at work, you’ll likely find me outside feeding chickadees or backcountry camping, but – wherever I am – you can be sure that I’m dreaming about Silver Lake! While we may not know what this summer will look like yet, I am confident that God has amazing things in store for our campers and am committed to bringing Jesus’ heart to life through camp. I cannot wait to spend the summer alongside all of you, in some form or another!

Assistant Camp Director - James Wright

Hey everyone! My name is James Wright and I am incredibly excited to serve as the Assistant Director of Silver Lake Camp this summer!
I have so many amazing memories from my time at camp and I feel so blessed to be able to help continue to pass on the love of Jesus that has made camp the place it’s been for generations. I can’t wait to get started! I love splashing around at the waterfront, jumping around and laughing together at sessions, and running through the fields during sponge wars.

Outside of camp, I study at Wilfrid Laurier University where I am working towards a double degree in Business Administration and Computer Science. I also work part-time at the university as a Teacher’s Assistant. While I’m not studying, I love to play sports (especially hockey), play board games with my friends and family (did someone say Catan champion?), and find ways to connect with the larger camp community and to keep the camp experience going year-round.  You can bet that whatever happens this summer, I’ll be right in the middle of it. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us!

Asst. Camp Director - Emily Eybergen

There is nothing I love more than jumping off the diving dock, making new creations at the creation station, and running around playing the shaving cream game. My name is Emily E. and I am excited to be one of Silver Lake’s Assistant Directors this summer! I first was introduced to Silver Lake in 2016 as a staff member and my eyes were opened to a whole new community. I knew that this was a special place. From theme nights to campouts and yes of course…SPONGE WARS, there is no other place I would rather be than at SLC.

When I am not at camp playing in the water and roasting marshmallows, I am in university taking Human Kinetics and studio art at the University of Guelph. I also am working at the university as a lifeguard where I get to be near the water some more (this is a bit of a trend for me) and meet new people. I am excited for all the new adventures this summer will bring and hope to see everyone back on site soon!
